Claude Shared Chats Containing Private Data Were Indexed by Google, Anthropic Blames Users

Over July 26–27, 2026, “site:claude.ai/share” reportedly let Google surface shared Claude chats and Artifacts, including health records, private documents, and children’s names/phone numbers. Anthropic traced it to its share-chat URL feature (“Anyone with the link can view”) and says it doesn’t share chat directories or sitemaps for indexing; Google says site owners control indexing.

Snapchat’s “Now Playing” rolls out July 27, 2026, streaming users’ live Spotify listening to Snap Map only during an active past-24-hour window: sharing auto-pauses if Snapchat hasn’t been opened in 24 hours and can be paused for 3 hours, 24 hours, or indefinitely. Users must link Spotify to show what’s playing to friends in real time, and Spotlight discoveries can be saved to Spotify or opened via the track page; Canada is listed as coming soon.
