Reflection AI has signed a $1 billion deal with European AI infrastructure company Nebius to access computing resources, the companies announced in July 2026.
Under the agreement, Nebius — formerly the international arm of Russian tech giant Yandex — will provide Reflection with access to Nvidia’s latest chips. The deal comes weeks after Reflection signed a similar arrangement to access SpaceX’s computing resources.
Reflection is a U.S.-based startup focused on developing open-source AI models. Founded in 2024 by two former Google DeepMind researchers, the company is currently valued at $8 billion and has raised close to $2.6 billion in funding from backers including Nvidia, Sequoia Capital, and Lightspeed Venture Partners.
The deal reflects a broader push by AI companies to lock in compute capacity for training and deploying models. Reflection is among several open-weight model developers drawing increased attention as debate grows over the value of closed-source AI. That debate has been fueled in part by the Trump administration pressuring Anthropic and OpenAI last month to restrict their most powerful new models — raising concerns about the reliability of access to proprietary AI systems — as well as the release of more capable open models from China.
Nebius has been an active player in large-scale AI infrastructure deals. Shortly after securing a $2 billion investment from Nvidia, the company signed a five-year infrastructure deal with Meta worth up to $27 billion. It also signed a multi-year deal with Microsoft last year worth up to $19.4 billion.
