Runable Raises $21M to Help Small Businesses Find Customers With AI Agents

Indian AI startup Runable has raised $21 million in a Series A round to expand its AI agent platform beyond building websites and apps into helping small businesses attract customers and grow, the company announced in August 2026.

The round was co-led by Susquehanna Venture Capital and Nexus Venture Partners, with existing investors Together Fund and Array VC also participating. The all-equity funding valued the Bengaluru-based startup at $65 million post-investment, according to co-founder and CEO Umesh Kumar.

Founded in 2025 by Kumar and co-founder Saksham Sarda, Runable originally started as an AI infrastructure company building browser technology for large-scale data scraping. After noticing users were increasingly asking its agent to create websites and slide decks, the startup pivoted to a general-purpose AI agent. The shift helped Runable reach a $2 million annualized revenue run rate within three weeks of launching payments in March 2026.

Runable’s platform lets users build websites, apps, and presentations using natural language prompts, while handling deployment and analytics. The startup is now extending into what it calls the “grow” side — running ad campaigns, managing social media, handling SEO, and optimizing a business’s presence in AI chatbot results. The goal, Kumar said, is for small business owners to simply tell Runable how many customers they want, rather than manually configuring separate tools for websites, advertising, and analytics.

“In the end, a business doesn’t require Codex or Claude Code or anything. They require real outcomes,” Kumar told TechCrunch.

Runable currently has about 1.7 million registered users, with the U.S., UK, and Japan as its largest markets. The company says users consumed more than 1 trillion tokens over the last 90 days, with 60% to 70% of that usage coming from paying customers. Runable currently operates with negative gross margins, partly because it subsidizes AI usage for customers, though Kumar said falling inference costs are expected to improve the economics over time.

The startup operates in a crowded space that includes Anthropic, OpenAI, Cursor, Lovable, and Replit, and identifies general-purpose agents Manus and Genspark as its closest competitors. Runable’s 15-person team is targeting nontechnical small business owners who want an end-to-end solution rather than multiple separate services.
