Warp introduced Warp Factories on Tuesday, August 2026, a new infrastructure system designed to help companies build and operate AI software factories without having to construct the underlying architecture from scratch.
The system functions as an infrastructure layer that gives companies a ready-made environment for deploying AI agents across the standard phases of software development — triage, specification, implementation, review, and verification. Any of those steps can be automated through an agentic approach, and users can select their own coding model, with the system supporting both Codex and Claude Code. Warp Factories also integrates with ticketing tools like Linear and Jira, and messaging platforms like Slack and Teams.
According to Warp CEO Zack Lloyd, the product is aimed primarily at smaller companies that lack the resources to build this kind of system themselves. “Running your agents in the cloud and steering those agents as they run, or bringing the work that they’re doing into your local environment, or setting up memory that goes across those agents, or setting up evals that go across those agents — it’s actually a huge infrastructure undertaking to do this right,” Lloyd told TechCrunch.
Larger companies have already developed their own solutions. Stripe has built a “minions” system to automate development within its codebase, and Ramp has developed a background agent that monitors deployed code.
Beyond code deployment, Warp Factories includes analytics tools that allow managers to track agent performance, compare configurations, monitor token spend, and run self-improvement loops to optimize the overall system.
The product is not positioned as a replacement for software engineers. Lloyd noted that Warp itself currently automates roughly 30 to 35 percent of its tasks on a weekly basis, and expects that figure to grow as models and tooling improve.
