Microsoft has confirmed it is developing a Copilot “super app” that will merge its chat, coding, and agentic capabilities into a single product, with a launch expected later in 2026. CEO Satya Nadella made the announcement during an earnings call on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
“Copilot is evolving rapidly from chat to Cowork to Autopilots,” Nadella said. “This quarter, we are bringing these Copilot experiences together, including code, in one super app… This is a major step forward, and I look forward to sharing more soon.”
According to Nadella, the app will span “both consumer and commercial experiences.” The unified product is set to bring together Microsoft’s Copilot chatbot, GitHub Copilot coding assistant, Copilot Cowork, and its agentic Autopilot system. The announcement follows an earlier report from Fortune that had revealed Microsoft was working on such a product.
The news comes as Microsoft reported quarterly revenue of $90 billion, with its AI and cloud businesses credited for driving the increase.
Microsoft is not alone in consolidating AI tools into a single application. OpenAI recently unveiled its ChatGPT Work app, which combines ChatGPT with its AI coding tool Codex.
The move to unify these tools under one interface may signal a broader shift in how AI products are packaged and delivered to both everyday users and enterprise customers. Nadella indicated further details would be shared soon, though no specific launch date was provided beyond the current quarter.
