Google launched a dedicated mobile app for Google Finance on Android in June 2026, bringing together watchlists, real-time market data, live financial news, and an AI-powered “Key Moments” feature that explains why individual stocks are moving.
An iOS version is planned for release in the coming months. Google also says additional features are on the way, including the ability to listen to live earnings calls.
The launch positions Google in direct competition with consumer finance platforms such as Yahoo Finance and trading apps like Robinhood. Google’s move into a stand-alone finance app suggests the company is looking to establish a presence in what it describes as an increasingly crowded financial information app market, rather than simply offering another way to check stock prices.
Alongside the app, Google announced that its AI-powered Google Finance web experience — which entered beta last year — is now out of beta and gaining new features. A global portfolio tool is rolling out within the web experience, allowing users to view all their investments in a single dashboard that tracks holdings and performance. Existing Google Finance portfolios will carry over automatically, and users can create new ones by uploading files or describing their investments to a chatbot.
Once portfolios are set up, users can query Google Finance’s AI research tool with questions such as “what sectors are currently underrepresented in my portfolio?” Google has also added a task feature that lets users set up recurring, natural-language prompts — such as daily market briefings or summaries of holdings performance — that run in the background using their watchlist or portfolio data.
The portfolio and task features are available on the web starting today. Google says both will be added to the Android app in the coming months.
