Microsoft has announced a Windows and Surface event scheduled for October 7, 2026, in San Francisco, where the company plans to host a “conversation on how local AI will shape the next chapter of the PC.”
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Windows and Surface chief Pavan Davuluri are both confirmed to attend. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will also appear at the event, which may signal that RTX Spark PCs could be a central focus. If so, pricing and availability details for the Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra could also be announced.
The event is also expected to address quality improvements to Windows and what comes next for the operating system. A Windows 12 announcement is not anticipated.
The October gathering marks Microsoft’s first major Windows event in more than two years. The company last held such an event in May 2024, when it unveiled new Arm-based Copilot Plus PCs and announced a renewed partnership with Qualcomm. Before that, Microsoft’s previous major Windows event was in June 2021, when it announced Windows 11 via a live stream.
The event is set to begin at 10AM PT / 1PM ET on October 7, 2026.
