Visa has made an undisclosed investment in AI coding platform Replit and is exploring how to integrate its payment products into the platform, the companies announced in May 2026. The deal would allow developers — and the AI agents they build — to accept payments directly from customers without leaving Replit.
As part of the partnership, the two companies are exploring integration of Visa Intelligent Commerce, Visa’s suite for AI-powered payments, along with Visa’s Trusted Agent Protocol — a system that allows AI agents to securely identify themselves by sharing their intent and relevant customer details so that agent-initiated payments can be verified. All projects remain in an exploratory stage, with no joint products formally announced.
Visa also disclosed that more than 1,000 of its own employees have been using Replit for prototyping and development. “Over the last few months, our enterprise traction has been growing, and Visa coming on board underscores our mission of making coding available to anyone in a secure and robust manner,” said Amjad Masad, CEO and founder of Replit.
Alongside the investment, Replit is launching self-serve enterprise access in 2026, enabling companies to sign contracts worth up to $200,000 without engaging a salesperson. The tier includes SSO, audit logs, and advanced permissions.
The deal reflects a broader push to build infrastructure for agentic payments — systems in which AI agents buy and sell on users’ behalf. Robinhood and Google are among other companies also moving in this direction, according to the source material.
Replit’s valuation has risen sharply alongside demand for AI coding platforms. The company reached a $3 billion valuation in September 2025, then raised $400 million in a Series D led by Georgian Partners in March 2026 at a $9 billion valuation. Masad has said customer churn is very low, with net retention reaching 300% in some cases.
