SpaceXAI introduced Grok Bot in August 2026, an always-on AI agent service that operates as an independent “AI teammate” capable of completing multi-step workplace tasks on a user’s behalf.
The bots run in a shared cloud-based computer environment and can sign into apps, tools, and websites users already have access to. Once assigned a task, they work independently and only return when the work is done or when something requires human approval. Users can message the bots “like a colleague” from a phone or desktop without needing to build workflows or routines in advance.
Multiple bots can run in parallel, with one bot designated to manage others handling specialized tasks. The bots can “independently message each other” to share context when projects overlap and can be placed in a group chat to coordinate work and assign ownership among themselves, according to SpaceXAI.
Grok Bot can also learn and save existing workflows, retain context about how a user performs tasks, follow up on dropped conversations, pick up work from old chats, and become more proactive over time — “picking up work before you need to ask and knowing when something needs your attention,” SpaceXAI says.
SpaceXAI says Grok Bot builds on an internal prototype already used within the company for sales outreach, marketing, office operations, and bug fixes. The launch positions Grok Bot alongside similar business-focused services from rival AI providers, including OpenAI’s ChatGPT Work, Anthropic’s Claude Cowork, and Microsoft’s Copilot Tasks.
Grok Bot is available in beta on desktop and iOS for SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra, and Cursor Teams Premium subscribers. Teams and enterprise users can join a waitlist for future access.
