Meta has launched a new app called Pocket, which lets users generate and share small interactive games and apps using text-based AI prompts. The app first appeared on the App Store and Google Play on June 29, 2026, though Meta has not made an official announcement about it.
Pocket describes itself as “a creative platform for making and sharing gizmos” — the term it uses for the interactive experiences users can build. The app also includes a scrollable discovery feed where users can play with gizmos created by others.
The app is a direct result of Meta’s earlier acquisition of Gizmo, a vibe-coded gaming platform whose team Meta acquired earlier in 2026. Pocket shares several similarities with Gizmo’s existing app, which remains listed on app stores, including AI prompt-based creation tools and a discovery feed. Gizmo had accumulated 635,000 lifetime installs across iOS and Google Play, with a 98% positive sentiment rating, according to app intelligence firm Appfigures.
The app’s launch was first spotted on July 2, 2026, by reverse engineer Alessandro Paluzzi, who published a Play Store screenshot on X. Appfigures noted that, due to the app’s recent debut, download figures are not yet available. Meta had not responded to a request for comment at the time of reporting.
Pocket fits into a broader pattern of Meta building out AI-powered creation tools. The company has previously launched AI-generated image features through its Meta AI app, an AI video app called Vibes, and AI tools integrated into its social platforms and its video-editing app, Edits.
Because Meta has not formally announced Pocket, the app is likely still in an early experimentation phase, suggesting further changes or a wider rollout may follow.
