New York venture firm Dimension Capital announced an $800 million third fund on Tuesday, July 22, 2026 — its largest to date and 60% bigger than the $500 million second fund it closed just 18 months ago.
The firm was founded in late 2022 by Zavian Dar and Adam Goulburn, formerly partners at Lux Capital, alongside Nan Li, previously of Obvious Ventures. Dimension focuses on companies at the intersection of science and compute, betting that founders would increasingly build deep-tech companies crossing the boundaries of biotech and software.
The rapid fund growth comes as the firm’s early bets have produced notable returns. In 2024, Dimension co-led a $30 million seed round in Chai Discovery, an open-source AI foundation model startup for drug development. Last week, Chai Discovery announced a $400 million raise at a $3.8 billion valuation. The firm also backed anti-aging startup New Limit at its Series A in January 2025; earlier this month, New Limit — co-founded by Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong — closed a Series C at a $3.1 billion valuation.
Other portfolio holdings include inference company Modal Labs and AI company Anthropic. Dimension acquired its Anthropic stake indirectly when Anthropic purchased Dimension portfolio company Coefficient Bio, a drug discovery platform, this spring for a reported $400 million.
The three partners say they have been impressed by how quickly their founding thesis has played out. The new fund’s size suggests investor appetite for the science-and-compute category remains strong, even as many newer VC firms continue to struggle to raise fresh capital.
