IBM Accused of Covering Up Three Foreign Government Hacks in Whistleblower Lawsuit

Ex-IBM threat intel VP William Barlow alleges Chinese state-linked APT10 breached IBM’s core network between 2013–2016, potentially 56,000+ times, infecting ~400 accounts and nearly 200 systems/servers across 18 countries. He says Five Eyes alerted IBM in March 2017, yet it failed to notify U.S. agencies; the 2020 suit was unsealed in June 2026, with Trusteer (acquired in 2013) allegedly breached in 2018.
