Microsoft Unveils Project Solara, an Android-Based OS for AI Agent Devices

At Build 2026, Microsoft unveiled Project Solara, a ground-up Android OS for low-power devices to run agent-driven experiences. Concept demos include a Desk with facial recognition unlock and a badge with camera + fingerprint scanner that records and instantly transcribes; AccuWeather, Best Buy, CVS Health, and Target will pilot the reference designs, and work is still early.

Meta will launch paid “Plus” subscriptions for Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp in summer 2026: Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus are $4/month, WhatsApp Plus is $3/month. Motorola Says Affiliate Tracking Redirect on Amazon App Was Unintended, Has Been Fixed

Motorola says some phones unintentionally routed users through an affiliate-tracking site before the Amazon Shopping app opened, briefly launching the browser and setting a cookie that attached an affiliate code to a Kira Abboud-linked URL. Reported by 9to5Google after a Reddit find, Motorola blamed a Moto App Launcher search/suggestion feature co-developed with Device Native; related docs were taken offline.
