Apple Accuses OpenAI of Destroying Evidence in Trade Secrets Lawsuit

Apple’s Sept. 2026 motion seeks expedited discovery, alleging OpenAI is destroying trade-secret evidence in its lawsuit over ex-employee Chang Liu. Apple says OpenAI handed over Liu’s company MacBook on Aug. 21 and, after inspection, found he downloaded and used a confidential Apple circuit schematic; OpenAI disputes and calls it “a mess of Apple’s own making.”

Pentagon adds ChatGPT and Grok to its secure AI portal for 3 million military and civilian users

In August 2026 the Pentagon added ChatGPT Mil and Grok for Government to GenAI.mil, a secure portal launched last year with 1.7M unique users out of roughly 3M DoD personnel. The military versions are exempt from common commercial data collection, with ChatGPT Mil aimed at unclassified admin/logistics and Grok delivered via SpaceX’s Starshield AI.
