Bluesky rolled out two new features in August 2026: the ability to hide reposts from specific users in your feeds, and a beta option that automatically numbers posts within a thread.
The repost-hiding tool allows users to mute the reposts of any individual they follow without unfollowing them entirely. To use it, visit a user’s profile, tap the three-dot menu, and select “Hide reposts in feeds.” The feature is designed for situations where a followed account frequently reposts content that clutters the feed. X offers a comparable toggle.
The second addition is a beta feature that appends sequential numbers to posts in a thread, giving readers a quick sense of a thread’s total length before diving in. It also removes the need for users to manually number their own posts. The feature can be enabled through Bluesky’s settings. Meta’s Threads platform already includes post counts on threads.
Both updates are aimed at giving users more control over how they experience content on the platform. The repost filter may be particularly useful for people who want to stay connected with a specific account without having their feed dominated by that account’s reposts.
