Apple announced a range of iOS 27 updates in June 2026, adding new features across Maps, Wallet, Apple Pay, Music, Podcasts, iCloud Shared Albums, and Fitness+. The changes were unveiled alongside the company’s higher-profile Siri AI and Apple Intelligence announcements at WWDC earlier that month.
Apple Maps is gaining a refreshed Flyover mode with more detailed 3D visuals and smoother navigation, plus a new Local Lists feature that surfaces trending restaurant and attraction recommendations. Apple has noted this could draw users away from third-party apps like Google Maps or Instagram for local discovery.
Find My is adding flexible location-sharing controls, letting users share their location for a custom duration — from minutes to a specific date — or temporarily pause sharing with individual contacts until the end of the day.
Apple Wallet is receiving several additions. A new receipt-scanning tool, powered by Apple Intelligence, can identify individual items, calculate each person’s share of taxes and tips, and send payment requests through Messages or Wallet. Users will also be able to digitize physical loyalty and membership cards by scanning barcodes with their iPhone camera, with support extending to Apple Watch. Hotel guests at participating properties will gain access to trip details, activity schedules, and real-time updates directly within Wallet.
Apple Pay is getting a redesigned checkout interface that lets users swipe between cards while viewing rewards balances and pay-later options. A new Tap to Share feature will allow customers to securely share loyalty accounts, shipping addresses, and contact details with participating merchants via a tap.
Apple Music is expanding Lyrics Translation to seven additional language pairings and extending AutoMix and Hi-Res Lossless Audio to Apple TV. Apple Podcasts is adding in-show episode search and bringing video podcasts to Mac and Apple TV. iCloud Shared Albums will support full-resolution sharing, emoji reactions, and temporary albums, with non-Apple users able to contribute photos via the web.
Fitness+ is launching a three-week program called Strong Through Menopause, featuring Yoga and Strength workouts. All features are currently available through the Apple Developer Program, with a public beta expected next month.
