Apple unveiled a redesigned Siri at WWDC 2026 on Monday, June 8, introducing a standalone app for the assistant that the company describes as its biggest transformation of Siri to date.
The new Siri app serves as a central hub where users can browse and revisit archived conversations with the assistant. Similar to the conversation-history functionality found in chatbots like ChatGPT and Claude, users can scroll through past sessions. When reopening a previous conversation, the app generates an overview of what was discussed, so users can get up to speed without reading the full transcript.
The app also supports launching new conversations and offers a multi-function interface that allows users to enter text, upload documents and images, or use a voice mode to speak directly to the assistant.
The Siri app is available across Apple’s device ecosystem, including iOS, macOS, and iPadOS. All conversations are synced privately through iCloud, in line with Apple’s existing privacy protections.
The dedicated app may give users a more structured way to interact with Siri as the assistant’s capabilities expand within Apple’s software. Previously, Siri lacked a persistent conversation interface of this kind, making the new app a notable shift in how users can engage with the assistant over time.
