Indian voice AI startup Ringg has raised $10 million from Peak XV Partners as an extension of its Series A, the company announced in August 2026. Combined with a $5.5 million Series A raised earlier this year, the round totals $15.5 million.
Ringg currently processes 20 million call attempts per month and counts Indian companies including Cred, Flipkart, Practo, Groww, and PolicyBazaar among its customers. The startup originally launched as a text-to-speech company called DesiVocal before pivoting to building voice AI agents for enterprises after its own speech model training proved too costly.
Co-founder Siddharth Tripathi said the company has deliberately moved away from simpler, high-volume use cases like outbound calling and loan collection — which he described as low-margin and not sticky — toward more complex workflows. These now include appointment booking across 1,200 clinics for healthcare app Practo, abandoned-cart recovery for e-commerce clients, and KYC onboarding checks for fintech apps.
Voice calls still account for over 70% of Ringg’s business, but the company has expanded into chat and WhatsApp, and is also automating browser-based support requests for clients such as Shell. Tripathi said Ringg’s goal is to position itself as an outcome-focused agent platform rather than a voice-only tool.
Most of Ringg’s customers are based in India, with some in the Middle East and the U.S. Rather than selling directly to U.S. companies, the startup plans to partner with Global Capability Centers — offshore hubs that multinationals use for back-office and support work — to offer automation alongside human support.
Peak XV principal Rishen Kapoor said Ringg’s background building its own speech models gives it the technical depth to handle complex enterprise workflows end to end. The company currently operates as an orchestration layer, routing tasks to different models by use case, while building toward owning more of its own voice infrastructure over time.
Ringg has 40 employees, with more than 15 hired in the past three months, and is hiring for forward-deployed engineering and AI research roles. The startup competes in a crowded field that includes model makers such as Sarvam and Smallest.ai and orchestration-focused startups like Bolna and Blue Machines.
