Perplexity has expanded its Personal Computer agentic tool to Windows, giving users of the world’s most widely used operating system access to a locally run AI system. The rollout began on July 28, 2026, and is available to paying Max and Enterprise Max subscribers, with plans starting at $200 per month.
Personal Computer for Windows functions as a “general-purpose digital worker,” capable of accessing local files and applications to carry out tasks on a user’s behalf — including creating documents, updating spreadsheets, and working across the web. Perplexity first launched a Mac version of the tool in April 2026, and followed that in May with integrations for Microsoft 365 apps and Teams.
The Windows release is designed to close a gap that earlier integrations left open. Perplexity noted in its press release that enterprise work is typically performed locally on Windows machines, placing it “out of AI’s reach.” The company said the tool is “built for the often messy way enterprise work gets done on local machines,” allowing users to work across local files, Microsoft Office 365, and the web from a single interface.
On privacy and data handling, Perplexity says Personal Computer for Windows does not train on company data. The tool is also designed to notify users before performing sensitive actions such as sending emails or deleting files.
The Windows launch builds on Perplexity’s broader push into enterprise AI workflows, extending capabilities that were previously limited to Mac users and select Microsoft cloud applications to the broader Windows environment where much of that work already takes place.
