Einride Acquires EV Charging Startup Flipturn in $38M All-Stock Deal

Swedish electric trucking company Einride has agreed to acquire EV charging software startup Flipturn in an all-stock deal valued at $38 million, announced in July 2026. The deal is expected to close this month and marks Einride’s first acquisition since going public on Nasdaq in June 2026 via a merger with a blank-check company.

Flipturn, founded in 2022, raised $15.5 million in venture capital to develop an EV charging software platform built on the Open Charge Point Protocol — the industry standard for communication between EV chargers and management systems. The platform monitors charging infrastructure health, pulls in data on vehicle battery levels, driving history, and routes, and integrates with on-site solar and energy-storage systems. The company employs 17 people, who will continue operating with the same team following the acquisition.

Einride CEO Roozbeh Charli described the deal as “a decisive step in our U.S. scaling strategy.” By adding Flipturn’s software to its existing offerings, Einride becomes more vertically integrated — able to provide customers not only electric trucks but also the charging software to manage them. This could make the company a more complete option for fleet operators considering a shift to electric heavy-duty trucks.

Einride operates a fleet of 200 heavy-duty electric trucks for clients including Heineken, PepsiCo, and Carlsberg Sweden across Europe, North America, and the United Arab Emirates. The company also recently added Amazon as a customer; Einride owns and manages the trucks, which drivers in Amazon’s Relay freight network can use to book hauling gigs through the Relay app. Einride manages its fleet through its own Saga AI software.

While Einride is also known for its cabless autonomous pod trucks, its heavy-duty electric truck fleet represents its primary revenue driver.
