Oak Emerges from Stealth with $60M to Modernize Enterprise Identity Management

Israeli cybersecurity startup Oak stepped out of stealth in July 2026, announcing $60 million in seed funding and the general availability of its identity management platform. The round was co-led by Accel, CRV, and Greylock Partners, with participation from AlphaDrive Ventures, Hetz Ventures, and angel investors.

Oak was co-founded by Shai Morag and Tal Marom. Morag is a former army major with more than two decades in cybersecurity, including the 2018 sale of Secdo to Palo Alto Networks and the 2023 acquisition of his cloud identity startup Ermetic by Tenable for $265 million. Marom, Oak’s chief product officer, previously held product leadership roles at Salesforce, Tenable, and in the Israeli military. The company has built a team of 50 people and is actively hiring, with a majority of staff expected to be based in the U.S.

Oak’s product is described as a unified control plane for identity governance across an organization. Its AI connector framework maps access to actual application usage and removes unnecessary permissions in real time, rather than only during periodic reviews. Before building the product, Marom said the team spent months speaking with 100 CISOs and identity access management leaders.

“Right now, the whole process is too manual, and it’s operations-based, not risk-based — for instance, there’s no trigger when an employee logs in from an unusual location,” Morag said.

The company positions itself as a replacement for legacy identity tools that were already showing limitations before the rise of AI agents in enterprise environments. Outdated credentials and poor identity access management are a recognized security vulnerability, and Oak argues that AI makes those weaknesses easier for attackers to exploit.

Oak has not disclosed client names but says its platform is already deployed by enterprise customers. The $60 million raise, described as large by local standards, is earmarked for R&D and growth. Accel partner Andrei Brasoveanu noted that experience matters in identity management given the product complexity and the organizational challenges involved in selling into that space.
