OpenClaw, the free, open source AI agent platform, is now available as an app on both iOS and Android, the company announced on X on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
On both platforms, users can pair their phones with the OpenClaw Gateway, a routing layer that connects requests to AI agents and the tools and skills those agents use to complete tasks. The app effectively allows users to run their OpenClaw agents from their phones.
OpenClaw was created by Peter Steinberger, who announced in February 2026 that he had joined OpenAI. The platform gained widespread attention earlier this year around the launch of MoltBook, a social media site purportedly populated entirely by AI agents. That project was later found by researchers to have been partially the work of humans impersonating agents — a revelation that raised questions about OpenClaw’s credibility, even as it drew attention to the platform.
Users have already put OpenClaw to work across a range of tasks, including coding and meal planning, though some have reported less-than-desirable results.
The mobile launch reflects a broader trend the source describes as an expanding “agentic future,” with AI agents now embedded across the AI landscape and appearing in more products and services. For OpenClaw users specifically, the app may make their existing automated workflows more accessible by putting them within reach from a mobile device.
