Adobe announced in June 2026 that it is expanding its Firefly AI assistant to Premiere, Illustrator, InDesign, and Frame.io, while also adding new capabilities to the tool across its app lineup.
In Premiere, the assistant can sort assets into bins, batch-rename clips, identify interview questions, and add markers. In Illustrator, it can reorganize layers across a document and check for missing fonts. Firefly was already available in Express, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
Adobe is also introducing new features to the Firefly app itself. Users can now describe a brand or upload existing collateral to generate a brand kit — including logos, brand identity, and color palettes — as well as create product videos from photos and build storyboards. A new Elements feature allows users to save AI-generated characters, objects, and locations for reuse across projects. A Projects feature will store existing assets in one place and share context, which could be useful for teams working on video series or brand campaigns. Both Elements and Projects are currently in private beta.
Firefly already supports integration with ChatGPT, Claude, and Copilot. Adobe said support for Google Gemini and Slack is planned.
The expansion reflects Adobe’s broader effort to embed AI throughout its application suite, with the stated goal of automating multi-step workflows that previously required manual tool usage. The company is also working on an AI assistant designed to operate across its apps.
The additions bring Firefly closer in feature scope to tools like Canva, at least in terms of AI-driven content generation, as Adobe continues loading the platform with image, video, and storyboard creation capabilities.
