Anthropic has partnered with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the Indian IT services giant, to accelerate adoption of its AI models at enterprise customers. The deal was announced in June 2026.
Under the agreement, TCS will create a dedicated business unit focused on deploying Anthropic’s AI models to its clients. TCS will also receive early access to new Anthropic model releases and will provide the company’s Claude AI assistant to its workforce of more than 50,000 employees. The two companies said they plan to develop solutions targeting financial services, healthcare, telecommunications, and aviation.
The partnership extends beyond core enterprise deployments. Diligenta, TCS’s UK-based life and pensions business serving over 22 million customers, plans to use Claude for customer service and process automation. TCS iON, the company’s digital learning platform, will offer training and certification programs on Anthropic’s models. TCS also said it would contribute tools to Anthropic’s Claude Code ecosystem, including capabilities for claims adjudication and lending advisory.
The deal fits a broader pattern of frontier AI companies securing enterprise distribution through Indian IT firms. Earlier in 2026, Anthropic partnered with Infosys, while OpenAI brought in both Infosys and HCLTech for similar arrangements.
For Anthropic, the partnership supports its stated goal of expanding in India, which the company has described as its second-largest market. Over the past year, Anthropic has opened an office in the country, hired for leadership roles, and deepened ties with major IT services firms.
The announcement arrives at a difficult moment for India’s IT sector. Shares of TCS and Infosys have fallen roughly 34% and 31%, respectively, so far in 2026, as investors and technology companies have begun questioning the long-term viability of India’s $315-billion IT services industry amid the rise of AI.
