Plaud announced the Plaud One Explorer Edition in August 2026 — a new AI wearable designed to record, transcribe, and summarize conversations. Unlike the company’s earlier pin-style device, the Plaud One takes the form of traditional earbuds paired with a feature-rich charging case.
The earbuds can be worn in the ear or left in the case, which operates independently thanks to built-in 4G connectivity — meaning neither a phone nor Wi-Fi connection is required to upload and process recordings. Each earbud contains three microphones capable of capturing audio up to two meters away, along with 16MB of local storage and noise cancellation. Force-activated controls sit on the earbud stems. Battery life is rated at up to six hours per charge.
The charging case adds significantly more capability: four microphones with a five-meter recording range, a built-in speaker, 512MB of storage, and a combined battery life of up to 36 hours via USB-C charging. An AI button on the case activates “Plaud Agent,” which integrates with Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion, and Slack to consolidate tasks without switching between apps.
Transcription and summarization are handled by Plaud Intelligence, the company’s own AI system, which Plaud says is built to “understand and execute on human intent.”
The Plaud One is priced at $249.99 and is available to preorder in selected markets starting today, with shipping expected to begin in late September 2026. For users who frequently record meetings or conversations across multiple platforms, the device’s standalone connectivity and app integrations may reduce reliance on separate transcription tools.
